Abstract

In this research, the aim was to present a model for robust optimization of the scheduling problem of intra-city rail transport trains (metro). Therefore, a new method was presented to solve the problem of robust optimization of subway train timings based on simulation methods. Therefore, the pattern of finding the optimal head distances in Tehran subway lines was followed in the present study in such a way as to optimize the average waiting time at the station platforms and improve the traffic rate of trains in the railway lines based on passenger demand. In the simulation model of limitations; The stopping time of the trains at the stations, the capacity of the metro stations, the possibility of overtaking in emergency situations and the observance of the safety margin of the trains have been considered according to the general conditions of the metro networks. In this research, it has also been assumed that the parameters of the capacity and time of the parts by the fleet of trains are non-deterministic parameters, and based on this, a new robust optimization model has been presented using simulation methods to solve the problem of scheduling the movement of trains. At the end, the findings of the case study of line one of the Tehran subway and the results obtained from it are presented.
